Most of the offseason to this point has been focused on what type of moves Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin plan to make with the roster. However, are these questions masking something that should be more pressing, the coaching staff?

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley did interview with the Arizona Cardinals for their vacant head coaching position, but looks to be settling in for the long haul with the Steelers. With that settled, that leaves the vacancy at the offensive line coach as possibly the most important move for the team to address.

This came to mind as reports of the continued staff building across the league is in full force. Just Monday, Kansas City, Arizona, Jacksonville, Buffalo and others announced some assistant coaching hires, yet, all remains quiet in Pittsburgh. Something that is eerily familiar to the offensive coordinator search from last offseason.

Tomlin must make this hire count. The Steelers have a solid young nucleus in place along the offensive line and that group will only get better as they gain experience. With four high draft picks on board, and some experienced reserves in the fold, this should be one of the more attractive positions available.

At this point, it is impossible to project who may be inline for even an interview. Whoever it is, what they do with the development of these talented young players could shape the Steelers offense for seasons to come.
