In the midst of this current two-game losing streak, the Pittsburgh Steelers injury situation has gone from bad to worse. In fact, in the debacle on Sunday, the team lost at least one starter, if not more, to injury for an extended period.

In all, the team finished the game against the Cleveland Browns down three starters with Mike Adams (Ankle), LaMarr Woodley (Ankle) and Willie Colon (Knee) all on the sideline. The injuries along the offensive line seem to be of most concern Monday, as the Steelers made some moves to help sure up the offense prior to their rematch against the Baltimore Ravens.

Starting the day, the team activated rookie first round pick David DeCastro from injured reserve. Although, he only returned to practice last week, the massive amount of injuries along the line may force him into action as soon as this week. To make room for DeCastro, the Steelers placed tackle Marcus Gilbert (Foot) on the injured reserve list, ending his season.

The moves along the offensive line did not stop there, as it appears that the ankle injury suffered by Adams against the Browns may keep him out of action. To add more depth, the Steelers again promoted guard/center John Malecki from the practice squad, and released wide receiver David Gilreath. Malecki was signed early in the season when center Maurkice Pouncey and Gilbert were out of action.

At this point, the big question is whom will start at right tackle against the Ravens, as the team finished the game against the Browns with rookie seventh round pick Kelvin Beachum holding down the fort. If DeCastro is ready, they could slide guard Ramon Foster outside to tackle, or to left guard and slide Willie Colon back to tackle. These questions alone should make head coach Mike Tomlin’s press conference interesting.
