With a match-up against the Baltimore Ravens squarely in front of them, the Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to enter this upcoming “Trap” game against the Kansas City Chiefs without their leading receiver in hopes he is ready to go, after a week off. With the game against the Chiefs still two days away, the Steelers have announced that wide receiver Antonio Brown (42-499-1) is out after injuring his ankle in the first quarter of their game against the New York Giants.Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery. Fans should look for much of the same from the offense on Monday night, especially considering the lack of depth at wide receiver if no move is made.
With Brown out, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will start on offense and return punts, where he filled in admirably for Brown against the Giants. Rookie running back Chris Rainey, who gave fans and the team a scare when he suffered a rib injury in that game, will be available to return kickoffs and fill his role at running back against the Chiefs.
Along with Brown, the Steelers have also announced that safety Troy Polamalu (Calf), offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert (Foot) and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (Hamstring) will be inactive for the game. Running back Rashard Mendenhall (Doubtful – Achilles) and linebacker Chris Carter (Questionable – Abdomen) will likely join those four on the inactive list for the Monday night tilt.
