The Giants got the ball after the touchdown and took advantage of two critical but questionable Steelers penalties to move into scoring position. The referee aided drive covered 72-yards in eight-plays was capped by a one-yard Andre Brown touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7. After another controversial play that benefited the Giants, the Steelers found themselves down 14-7, after Michael Boley returned a Roethlisberger fumble 70-yards for a touchdown. On the play, it appeared that Roethlisberger’s arm was moving forward when the ball came out. The play was reviewed and upheld.
After the Giants missed a field goal near the end of the half, Roethlisberger and the Steelers were able to quickly move the ball down the field and get into scoring position for them. At the end of the half, Shaun Suisham connected on a 30-yard field goal to bring the score to 14-10 at halftime.
The biggest news out of the first half was an ankle injury to wide receiver Antonio Brown in the second quarter. While he is listed as questionable to return, he has not yet come back on the field. Offensively, the Steelers have gotten a strong performance from their running game, with Isaac Redman leading the way with 87-yards on 14 carries. This running game set up play action, and Roethlisberger took advantage completing 12-of-18 passes for 96-yards and one touchdown.
