As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be without five starters against the Cincinnati Bengals when the two teams kickoff within the hour. In all, running backs Isaac Redman (Knee) and Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles), center Maurkice Pouncey (Knee), tackle Marcus Gilbert (Foot), linebacker Chris Carter (Hamstring), safety Troy Polamalu (Calf), and quarterback Charlie Batch will be inactive this week.
With the offensive line and backfield decimated the Steelers will turn to tackle Mike Adams and center Doug Legursky along the line, and Jonathan Dwyer at running back to pick up the slack on offense. In place of Polamalu, safety Will Allen should make his second consecutive start for the defense.Also,
