The Pittsburgh Steelers had three injuries of note in Thursday nights 24-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Of those, it appeared at the time that the knee injury suffered by fullback / tight end David Johnson was the most severe.

Those fears appear to be reality. This morning it is being reported by Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Johnson is likely done for the season after suffering a torn ACL. This could not come at a worse time for the team, as the Steelers are already thin at the fullback position and are intent on returning to balanced attack.

The former seventh round selection was the most experienced player at the position and offered position flexibility as a tight end. Without Johnson, the Steelers have only one fullback in camp former West Virginia Mountaineer and undrafted signee Will Johnson
