Today, the Pittsburgh Steelers made news by signing a wide receiver to a long-term contract extension. Unfortunately, it was not Mike Wallace. Instead, the team added pressure to the holdout, by inking wide receiver and 2011 team MVP Antonio Brown to a five-year extension that will keep him with the Steelers through the 2017 campaign.

Per league sources, Brown’s new deal is worth a total of $42 million over the next six seasons, a solid raise for the 2011 Pro Bowler who was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract.

In case fans are wondering how Mike Wallace feels about this move….he tweeted earlier that he was happy for Brown and that he deserved it.
