As the Pittsburgh Steelers sat idle during week 11, there was a very important battle between the two other contenders in the AFC North. That game was between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals and it went exactly the opposite of how any Steelers fan might want.
The Bengals got taken on a call that would have tied the game, but it ended up benefiting the Ravens who held on for the win. Now for the rest of the season the Steelers will be playing catchup with the Ravens and hoping for help along the way from the rest of the league. With the AFC North kind of out of their grasp except if the Ravens have some monumental collapse, the Steelers must continue to play strong down the stretch. Also the Steelers have three divisional games remaining and must take all of them for any shot of staying with the Ravens in the hunt.
Also even though the Bengals are a game behind, if they play well the rest of the way they too could be a very big factor in how this divisional race pans out. The Cleveland Browns might actually be the team that throws a wrench into the mix if they can play the other teams tough. It could be them who decides the division in the long run.
Playing well has to continue this weekend as the Steelers will go a place that they lost two years ago in a very crucial game. The Kansas City Chiefs are next and despite their 4-5 record could be a challenge for the Steelers.
As the week goes on news will be coming forward about the possible return of most of the banged up players particularly getting LaMarr Woodley and Hines Ward back at 100%.
The next seven games will be challenging for the Steelers to stay in the playoff mix and now isn't the time to let up.
